Job Description:

The Lobby is an independently owned award-winning brunch restaurant and event venue in the heart of Downtown Denver. We are searching for an experienced Event Sales & Service Manager to join our amazing team!

This position is responsible for the marketing, booking and detailing of social & corporate events, as well as supervising and executing setup, breakdown and service of each event.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Include...

- Solicits and closes business with potential clients, meeting the financial goals of the venue.
- Prepares proposals, leads venue tours, and educates potential clients in The Lobby’s policies and procedures.
- Ensures that payments for sales are collected on a timely basis, and uses forecasting and reporting tools to meet sales goals.
- Conceptualize, implement, and manage all internal events using creativity to execute the vision of events to meet funding, attendance, and strategic goals
- Oversee and update appropriate marketing materials for event sales and marketing needs such as photos, Venue Guide, website content, menus, brochures, etc.
- Assist in Social Media and Web Presence (Facebook, Instagram, Wedding Spot, The Knot, etc.) to promote sales and events.
- Communicate with clients effectively and as needed during the coordination and planning process for their event in a timely and professional manner including in person or virtual walk-thoroughs of the site as appropriate.
- Consistently audit and maintain event contract, banquet event order and email templates with attention to detail maintained
- Ensure all proper permitting, insurance, and other regulatory requirements are met by The Lobby and other responsible parties prior to event dates.
- Communicate effectively with the team by updating all shared staff resources with event and staffing details to mitigate all conflicts in the scheduling and execution of events. This includes but is not limited to: Tripleseat, iCal, Open Table, ShiftNotes and Schedulefly.
- Participate in weekly management team meetings, event employee evaluations, restaurant cleanings and all other necessary relevant management actions
- Exhibit leadership and provide ongoing support to the team, motivating and encouraging the team through an engaged, collaborative approach
- Work with the Chef and General Manager to ensure event menus are appropriate and up to date
- Ensure appropriate staffing is scheduled for all events and parties booked
- Ensure all event spaces are maintained in good appearance and working condition, and that the necessary cleaning and repairs are addressed as needed
- Maintain up to date event signage, floor maps, and other necessary materials
- Ensure point of sale system is up to date and used to ring in all event sales and that all items are entered appropriately
- Make sure that guests are comfortable and cared for, including music, ambiance, lighting levels etc. throughout the restaurant
- Maintain clear communication between planners, day-of coordinators, promoters, participating employees, vendors, clients, other acting MODs and guests
- Handle guest complaints, guest related issues and needs with a sense of urgency, poise, kindness and good judgement

Job Requirements:

- Average of 40-55 hours per week, depending on the flow of business and height of season
- Maintain a self-driven work ethic without the necessity of regularly scheduled hours including splitting time between the restaurant and home office. For all work done at a home office, a time sheet in Google Docs must be accurately maintained.
- Schedule is flexible and may include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 lbs., bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
- Must be able to physically access all areas of the restaurant to assist clients, guests and team member
