Lead Cook (Chef) | Sundance Trail Guest Ranch

Job Description:

Sundance Trail Guest Ranch is a small guest ranch hosting up to 24 guests, most guests stay for an entire week. Quickly guests and staff feel like they are 'home'. Some guests have described our food as a wonderful cross between down home country cooking (like going to Grandma's house) and a 4 star restaurant without the crystal.

The lead cook (Chef), is responsible for the preparation & serving of 3 meals a day, plus cookies/snacks for 30 – 40 people a day. Sample two week menu template is available for your use. Often the Lead Cook - delegates breakfast preparation and a lot of the baking to the assistant cook. However some really like breakfast or baking and will instead split duties in a different fashion. We will not micro-manage you - as long as the guests are delighted in your food and work hours are reasonably split between the two cooks we will be delighted. This means usually lead cook in the kitchen executing just 2 meals each day.

There is a lodge manager who is responsible for supervising the kitchen staff, and will assist in food ordering/shopping. Which means the Lead Cook (Chef) can focus on preparing wonderful meals.

Housing is provided at no charge. We are near Red Feather Lakes, about 37 miles northwest of Fort Collins. All staff are encouraged to take breaks to enjoy the outdoors, whether that is to lay in the hammocks under the pines, sit in the hot-tub or to join in on a horseback ride. Many opportunities exist to have fun and make memories.

Compliance with Restaurant Health Codes
Be the team leader
Food inventory management

Job Requirements:

Prepare hearty meat and potato type meals
Bread/rolls making & baking
Cookies & Desserts from scratch
Make Soup and salads
Ability to cope with special requests and dietary needs
