Sous Chef | Mountain Tap Brewery

Compensation: Hourly | $22 - $25/hour DOE. Inclusion in BOH nightly revenue share – average $2.50/hr additional. | Not-tipped
Availability: Full-Time | Shift: Afternoon, Evening, Weekends

Job Description:

Grow professionally with Mountain Tap Brewery’s culinary team! Working directly with the Chef, you will oversee day-to-day operations and manage inventory, ordering, and perform supervisory duties related to company standards.

Job Responsibilities:

● Monitor and manage inventory of all kitchen and food prep/serving related items and order as appropriate (raw goods, dry goods, supplies, etc.).
● Manage dough production, storage, fermentation, rotation, proofing, etc.
● Engage in menu development.
● Strive to find and implement efficiencies designed to reduce waste and increase speed of service.
● Ensure kitchen is maintained and cleaned on a daily basis.
● Create staff incentives designed to promote teamwork and boost morale.
● Actively train staff and ensure that all team members adhere to standards established by owners and management.
● Take an active role in recruitment from postings to interviews.
● Work on the line and ensure that prep is prioritized and completed based on anticipated volume.
● Assist Executive Chef in hiring, training and managing kitchen (BOH) staff with assistance from owners.

Job Requirements:

● Exceptional attention to detail, food quality, sanitation and safety.
● Experience with wood-fired cooking, preferably pizza.
● Experience with large batch dough making.
● Passion for cooking, craft beer and Steamboat.
● Knowledge of health codes and excellent safe food handling practices.
● Strong work ethic.
● Ability to be standing for long periods of time, often exceeding 8 hours.
● Ability to lift 60 lbs.
● Must be ablet to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
